    agree
this will make boxing more competitive, it'd descrease champ who claim himself as A-side **** side and demand too much just because they have 1 or 2 whatever belts

Now we just need to get rid of the fake weightclasses (except cruiserweight)

Yes, sir. I'm fine with the original 8, but I won't complain about the nine, including cruiserweight. Would be the best thing for boxing in a while. People are tired of all of the belt holders. We need real champions.

Undisputed champions were fairly common until the WBO came along and ruined everything. From 2000-2006 alone, we had undisputed champions at heavyweight, cruiserweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, light middleweight, welterweight and light welterweight.

Then WBO gains full recognition at the end of 2006 and there hasn't been an undisputed champion since.

bob arum would immediately prop up a new group.

there can never be one champion until fans stop recognizing so many belts. unification solves nothing if fans allow promoters to just hop in bed with a newer belt instead.

Oh man. I don't doubt it. To my knowledge, Hopkins is the only one to actually hold all four titles and that of course, was very briefly. Three was much easier than four.

Anyway, the Klistchko-Joshua winner will have the WBA/IBF Heavyweight Titles. If Golovkin and Saunders meet, we'll have one middleweight champion. Id the Ward-Kovalev winner can ever get a fight with the WBC champ, we'll have one light heavyweight champion. You combine all this with Loma looking to unify at 130 and Mikey looking to do so at 135 with Usyk at cruiserweight and of course, Thurman has the WBC/WBA welterweight titles. Things are getting closer to unification all around this year. Really enjoying seeing this!
At 140 there's been 5, Tszyu was the last. Their was almost 1 in 2012 but it didn't happen .Crawford or Indongo would be 6th first to have IBO too.

We can blame Dela Hoya and Arum for this. I hate the WBO as it's the most useless.

Hopkins was undisputed champion and beat DLH for his unrecognized WBO title, becoming the first WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO champion (Lennox Lewis was the first WBC/WBA/IBF/IBO champion).

Hopkins lost to Taylor. Taylor was stripped of a belt before the rematch. So Hopkins & Taylor are still the only WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO champions in history.

But WBO doesn't gain full recognition until a year or so after that, so O'Neil Bell was still undisputed cruiserweight champion in early 2006 by unifying WBC/WBA/IBF.

Yes, I was thinking Taylor got stripped of one very early on. I didn't know it was that early. Haha. Having the big three definitely made more sense. Before the IBF, the belts made much more sense. Unifying two titles is not very difficult.
