Did Edwin Valero ever reach such p4p stati like Golovkin?

Maybe if Valero hadn't been knee deep in Japanese affairs and under the hood of K2 he would've lived a happier life with no tragedy? If Valero saw himself on Ring's top 3 or ESPN's number 1 would he still be around? Psychology much?

    Who was his Jacobs?

Most think he would've kept winning and eventually fought Broner in a war. Some think he would make it all the way to Pacquiao. But pretty much everyone believes Pacman would've stopped him.

No, nowhere close either. His best opponent at the time he fought them, was Vincent Mosquera. Mosquera had only one notable win coming into the fight. He was tough, and did drop Valero, but compared to Golovkin's opposition, Mosquera would probably be below Curtis Stevens. Antonio DeMarco was only like 22 when he lost to Valero, and he wasn't that good either.

For the sake of optimistic theory, Mikey's Garcia did say that Valero was the hardest puncher he ever faced. He was boastful in that interview too. Lastly, Oscar dropped Valero for his camp against Pacquiao. Was too much for Oscar.

Yeah but giving Oscar a black eye in sparring does nothing for Valero's thin resume.
