I wonder if HBO or Kellerman know why rematches happen?

Didn't Gennady say he would rematch Jacobs right then and there?

should Max have said, "Gennady, we at ringside saw this as a really close fight, would you like to rematch Jacobs at 3 or 4 fights down the road or perhaps 168!? Because we have a feeling Abel might say something on your behalf, so we would like to hear it from you..."

That was a good fight. I'd like to see if Jacobs can improve enough to get the win. He had a good game plan going in. Now that he knows what it's actually like to be in there with GGG next time his team could pull it off.

I have yet to see Jacobs doggedly demanding a rematch. Even if team GGG agrees, I'm sure the negotiation would last more than a year. Nobody knows who the A side was in the first, so Jacobs would most likely behave as one all the way this time around.

They did. This "3 or 4 fights down the road" thing was mentioned this week.
