  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Admits He Doubted Ricky Burns After String of Defeats

Eddie Hearn thought he had seen the last of Ricky Burns when he surrendered his lightweight world title. But after watching the Coatbridge fighter drag himself back to the summit of world boxing the promoter is refusing to put a limit on Burns' possibilities. The 'Rickster' faces Namibian Julius Indongo in Glasgow on Saturday night in what he describes as the biggest fight of his career, with the unified Super Lightweight world championship on the line.

I thought Ricky was done but it's a testament to his commitment moving away and back to the drawing board .He's a nice down to earth kid with toughness and talent who you just will on to win.....keep it going Ricky you've found a lot of fans down here in England

Let's not pretend Burns reinvented himself now. He went from losing to world class fighters who showed him his true level to beating euro-level operators. He will lose again when he takes a step up in competition, and as a matter of fact, he arguably lost against Relikh.

I've have doubts since the very beginning... Nothing personnal. But the fact he was world champion for such a long time shows how much business rules, not talent.

it's also a testament to eddie 'the envelopes' corrupt and ridiculous scorecards (not to mention the reff pretending a legit KD was a slip)

He should have been handed a UD loss to Relikh, that fight was an absolute blatant robbery and this comes from a Glasgow born and bred person, there is no bias here.

Agreed, but Eddie isn't the only twat that is doing this, however, there are a lot of B.S. decisions which go in his favour.
