does every competitive fight demand an immediate rematch...

if there was a close but clear winner, someone for example who dropped the other fighter and outlanded them significantly, does it warrant an immediate rematch? Or is that fighter ducking if they want to test themselves against other champions? Do we really need to see reruns of every competitive fight? And say the rematch is relatively close, what happens then, should the fighter get a third shot at it?
    please discuss....

If the alternative is a lesser fighter, yes.

No... But under certain circumstances, yes.

If there isn't a more interesting alternative at the moment, then there should be an immediate rematch. If someone comes *that* close to beating an unbeaten fighter, an automatic rematch should also be held just so the undefeated fighter can prove they're really better than the other man with no question marks.

When you have a resume full of bums and mismatches, yes. . But it doesnt have to be immediate, it can be after canelo...
You saw how frampton rematched santa and the fight was completely different..

If you win as clearly as Salido did against Lomachenko it isn't warranted.

                This.

I don't mind GGG going to Canelo -- its a big $$$ fight that has been scheduled for Sept 2017 every since Canelo said "No Mamadas -- ummm, pero no soy peso mediano"

I'd hope they do the rematch right after. I had GGG winning that fight by the KD -- very close by rounds -- although GGG won his 6 rounds more decisively than Jacobs, who barely won his 6 rounds.

If either Ward or Kova fought Stevenson, I'd be cool with it. Its a lesser fight, but still pretty big.

So if a winner of a very competitive fight "ducks" a rematch, it should be for a bigger, or equivalent fight.

C'mon man, I love my paisa Siri, but that was a competitive fight. I wont dispute the result, but it could have gone to Loma.

It was ugly, hard to score, lots of questionable blows by Siri (how do you score it if a dude is semi-holding and hitting).

Both dudes went on to significant fights, so its cool. But that was a fight that merits a rematch.

Jacobs vs GGG doesn't need a rematch.Jacobs was too cautious in the fight.Another close, stale chess match if you ask me.
