Comments Thread For: Roc Nation Prez: We're Committed To Cotto Fighting Twice in 2017

The date that we've been looking at is June 24th, but we haven't secured a final opponent yet. There are a couple people that we've homed in on right now. Every deal has it's issues and every deal has to go a ceterain process. Every fightthat you try to make takes a little bit of time. Our hopes is that in the next week to ten days, we will secure an opponent for Migule on the 24th of June," Yorkmark.

We're committed to making sure that he not only fights once, but tweice before the end ofthe year. At the end of the day, Miguel Cotto is going to fight who he wants to fight. We're here to support him. We're going to takeit one fight at a one. Ideally he fights in June and then again in the fourth urater. But it has to be the right opponent, the right opportunity.

Cotto vs Lemieux should have been the next fight.

Well they shouldn't have too much of a hard time signing an opponent considering that now the fight is on regular HBO. I mean it has to be a respectable opponent. With not much time until June they better get on it. I know Kamegai is being strongly considered and he was just on HBO this past September when he knocked out Soto-Karass. I wouldn't mind that fight. They need to sign an opponent already. It's been since February 2nd that Kirkland withdrew and in all that time they still haven't secured an opponent.

I heard Yuki Nonaka is off the table now. And good, that was a horrible choice to consider, smh. 31 wins, 8 losses, 3 draws, 10 knockouts, 39 years old, unknown, all his fights in Japan. WTF

Rios is off the table with his fight coming April 29th.

Only name left that we've heard of is Kamegai, which is not a bad option considering their situation and time limit. But who knows, he said a couple names. Maybe there's more people we haven't heard about.
