It wasn't about some rocket science though... The "business model" was way too flamboyant...

The business model was re tarded. There will be a 30 for 30 in a couple years on how Haymon stole/flushed almost a billion down the drain on PBC. The man bought 2 private jets with investor's money LMAO

But nobody is bailing on anything. The contract between PBC and Spike expired. They're talking about doing more fights. Spike isn't going to sign another long term deal when the network is moving away from live sports and undergoing a complete rebranding an overhaul next year.

Spike wanted to become a fight network for men, but now Spike is being replaced by the Paramount Network, which wants to focus on scripted programming and appealing more to women. With the entire network in turmoil and being completely replaced in less than 12 months, what made you think Spike would sign another multiyear deal with any fight entity?

ESPN just signed a 2 year deal with option for a 3rd with Golden Boy to replace the boxing content they aren't getting from PBC.
ESPN is paying Golden Boy $0. It's a complete non-factor.

And ESPN not only paid nothing for PBC but we're actually paid by PBC in time buys. What's your point? And Dan Rafael reported that PBC was supposed to return Friday but didn't and has nothing scheduled and hasn't aired a fight since last aug. Now ESPN signs deal to air 2 fights per month with golden boy but yeah its a non factor for PBC future on ESPN? LMAO Whether you want to call bailing canceling your contract or letting their contracts run out is semantics. Point is these networks are getting out of the PBC business. NBC and ESPN are done with PBC just like Spike. PBC is basically FS1 and bounce. Haymon is sending all his fighters back to showtime. The rest are either not airing fights anymore or waiting until they can legally announce they are done officially with PBC. PBC has no future with any of those networks.

... I know all of these... they are in the media...
(and, usually, there exists an accountability phase in such "schemes"...)

I think on the business side of things Spike can take advantage of boxing politics & have the upper hand. They can go to TR & GBP to see if they could get more $, if not, stick with pbc on a fight by fight thing. Pbc has nothing to lose either being they work with plenty of other stations. Every1 wins.
