I wouldn't be surprised if ward retires if he beats kovalev. He talked about it after the first fight, so at least in some part he doesn't have it in him anymore. If kovalev wins...i see a 3rd fight.

If Ward wins rematch I think he retires. His heart doesn't seem to be in it any more. He's been on the fence with regard to his career for several years now. He seems to have a love/hate relationship with boxing and I think he has made enough money to comfortably retire and not look back. Besides, after Kovalev, there is no money to be made at 175. Stevenson won't fight him or anyone who poses a threat, and no one else has established a name for themselves at 175 to warrant any demand.

If this is how you feel then you should put some money on Kovalev especially if he's the underdog.

You don't go into a fight vs someone like Kovalev "if your heart isn't in it anymore."
