Canelo showed that he was hard to hit against Cotto. Now admittedly Chavez is taller and bigger than Cotto but much slower. Many fans are looking at the size advantage but remember Chavez struggled to make 168 and at an even lighter weight it is hard to predict how drained he might be. This makes me think Chavez will have the advantage here. Remind me later if I am wrong, and think of me later if I am right but I will go with Canelo by 8-9th round ko.

... I bet 1 septillion that Canelo wins by decision or stops Jr...
... Do you take the bet?

Canelo will in all likelihood beat Chavez. GBP wouldn't have made the fight if they thought their cash cow could lose. I think Chavez is a tough kid but they don't call it "prize fighting" for nothing. Chavez looking for a payday and getting in their with a big draw like Canelo will make that happen. I'm hoping Chavez shows up on fight night and makes it somewhat competitive.

Chavez will be a zombie , if anything he will be a dead man walking after the 8th not the other way around , not seeing it to be honest , he was never a good boxer and he is sure not going to start becoming one out of the blue , when he stepped up he got owned and Canelo will own him HARD.
My only question is do you REALLY believe Chavez going to do it ? or its a "ill throw it to the upset wall and if it sticks im a genius and if it doesn't then whatever"

How the heck is Chavez going to make weight without dying? That can't be fun at all.

Chavez couldn't even beat Brian Vera.. He's got a hell of a chin though which means he's gonna get a vicious beating until a body shot gets him out. I hope it's a good fight at least.

He wasn't too hard to hit vs Smith. Canelo gets into a groove and will do some slick sht when he feels no threat. Put him in with someone with some strength and size or power, touch him up and you won't see him like that because he wont be as comfortable.

Chavez is slow and plodding, he is there to be hit and will be hit often, Canelo is on that good ****, they made a deal with VADA to not have bloodtesting for Canelo, he already looks a bit like Hulk in the last pictures. Both will be 180+ on fight night but Canelo has a big handspeed advantage.

Canelo is not fighting a legit top 5 ranked opponent, he is fighting Chavez Jr, the guy who went life and death with Brian Vera and got pummeled by Fonfara and couldnt hurt german nobody Britsch. As much i will root for Chavez and would love for him to pull it off i see him getting beat up in the early rounds and then not having much left to hurt Canelo.

If Chavez wasnt drained he might have a slight chance, but going down to 164 will weaken him badly, these last 2-3 lb will probably be too much for his body to handle.

Canelo tired vs Angulo trying to bomb the guy off him and gain some respect. Chavez is bigger and not as shot. Really this depends on Chavez, if he shows up, after Canelo gets all the sht off in the first half, he'll have nothing left and can be walked over. Chavez is inconsistent enough though that it goes to a close decision.

I won't make my choice until I see them weigh in.
