Watch some interviews from setbachs videos, he speaks English pretty good. Hes not confident with his English for whatever reason to talk in public.

He doesn't speak enough because he's not comfortable. But yeah, as he lives in the States he'll continue learning the language and will use it more. He's still young.

Keep in mind that cyrillic languages have a vastly different structure from the germanic ones. It's not an easy crossover for the soviets to learn English.

It couldn't hurt. But if he is going to be making millions without it I doubt it will become a priority.

Pro boxing exists as a product; entertainment. People want to be able to relate to you, understand you, etc. if you want to endear yourself to a crowd, it really helps to be able to speak their language. It helps establish a personality and personalities sell in boxing.

Being able to do it and actually doing it are two different things. He's not doing it when it matters most.

Current biggest draw in boxing doesn't speak English.

His English isn't bad, he just doesn't use it much.

I think Eastern European fighters have a tough road ahead of them becoming crossover stars in America. It is a shame, because they are not only some of the best fighters going, but also exciting to watch.

I love watching them though. My favorite fighters are from Russia and Ukraine.
