I don't remember when it happened (but it was certainly PRE GGG-Jacobs) that I stopped believing that Canelo would get pulverized by GGG. I give Canelo the benefit of the doubt and think he has enough to make it an interesting fight.

He looks better against come forward fighters and has above average defense. As far as if he gets hit (he will), you have to assume he'll be able to take the punches. When was the last time we saw Canelo hurt/visibly shaken up/weary? On the undercard of a Mayweather fight if I'm not mistaken against a bloated José Miguel Cotto?

Granted, he had Canelo in bad trouble in that first round. Canelo was stunned frozen in the shoulder roll position against the ropes and must've eaten 4 straight overhand straight right hands.

From there, he took over down the line and stopped José. It's an OK scrap but that was YEARS ago and in a different weight class.

GGG is something else completely different but I'm not caught up in the hysteria of GGG destroying Canelo. Can he be stopped? Maaaaaybe. Do I think Canelo's pride and all the criticism that's been thrown at him for the Angulo stoppage and failing to fight GGG after "Hay que dejarnos de mamadas" remark will force him to dig down and send a big F-U to his critics? Yes.

I don't have a dog in this fight right now, my guess is that I'll be rooting for whoever is perceived as the underdog come fight night.

Chavez knows that his earlier goofy fk-ups will all be immediately forgotten if he beats Canelo

        not saying he will win

Jacobs got dropped, out-jabbed, out-punched in 75% of the rounds and lost the fight. You won't do half as good as he did against GGG, you won't even make it to that fight because Chavez is going to whoop your diva arse.

EXACTLY!!! This is the funniest part of the whole thing. The diva talks about what Jacobs did like it was easy but Jacobs was shifting and sliding all around the ring. Diva couldn't do that for 2 consecutive rounds, let alone an entire 12 rd fight.

GGG would pummel his face with the jab, breaking him down for a few rounds, then closes the gap to start smashing that liver. By round 4 or 5, the diva will have slowed to a crawl, a stationary target. He'll be left with no choice but to slug it out and then it's a wrap, he gets knocked out cold from a hook. He may get dropped once or so prior to but he'll get KTFO against a very pissed off GGG.

Jacob's had the engine and the heighth and obviously he outweighed G that night,,, you are TaylorMade GGG. You stand there and wait for someone to attack U, you used some footwork against Smith but you also took periodic breaks on the ropes throughout the fight, do that against G and you are going to be pink and not red in the face

so, Jacobs is this legendary great now is he ?

                oh lordie

why did Golovkin just duck Billy-Joe Saunders ?

Canelo has real good upper-body movement, excellent ringIQ, and excellent defence..... that will be a different kind of fight..... and don't expect Golovkin to have the same kind of latitude either, as Canelo will give him different problems and different looks again

I actually think Canelo will keep Golovkin much more honest than Jacobs did

You're a fat midget that plants his feet. So no. You can counter the **** out of him but you aren't going to do what Jacobs did, and what he did wasn't enough anyway.

Make the fight now or shut up. Everyone is tired of your diva BS.

If GGG does that his rep never recovers and he loses the fight to a cheer of boos. FYI jabs didn't effect Canelo Lara actually landed only 55 jabs through 12 rounds at 22% connect rate. Lara wasn't effective of anything but running that night. A better comparison is Cotto/Canelo. Cotto didn't run but stayed on the back foot and tried to jab his way to victory. Throwing a career high 374 jabs but ONLY landed 54 at a 14% connect rate. Canelo is VERY good at slipping and avoiding jabs. Lara and Cotto more skilled and intelligent fighters and NEITHER guy landed a high amount of jabs on Canelo. But slower 1 dimensional GGG will? LMAO

GGG has more variation and ring iq then both cotto and lara. Also, has a much better jab than both.
