whilst being completely irrelevant to boxing, Mayweather/McGregor is a HUGE event..... I think it could do 1.5mil, possibly even 2mil+

Canelo/Golovkin is not as big as some like to make out

I can't see it being much bigger than Canelo/Chavez to be honest..... who are both more well-known than Golovkin

I can't see either of those fights doing more than a mil

It is not clear from the article what catchweight Cotto requested but if they imposed 3 pounds on Geale, I doubt it was 1 or 2 pounds with little reward high risk GGG right before a possible Canelo retirement money fight with Cotto retiring soon. We don't know for sure but I think we can agree that giving a better offer than Geale would simply be illogical and financially foolish.

And forcing Cotto to vacate will definitely put them out of the sweepstakes but postponing the fight at least keeps them in it and they'd have had a better chance at getting a better deal once Cotto got his retirement money if he won or maybe a better deal with Canelo if he won. And even if it doesn't work out, at least they got almost a mil step aside. I'd have done the same thing if given as bs catchweight offer.

THAT is why they refused to negotiate with Canelo on weight..... THAT is why they refused a small fortune in the form of an 8-figure sum to fight Canelo..... THAT is why they tried to kill the Jacobs fight by forcing an early purse-bid..... and THAT is why they suddenly don't want to fight Billy Joe Saunders for the remaining middleweight strap

I dont think he cares about a ****** record that no one cares about. The only fight that matter is BJS for the belts. Canelo should fight Jacobs September, so u can see how good or bad he really is. But all he fights are bums, ex Chavez Jr, China Glass Chin Khan, Old Midget Past Prime Cotto, Layoff Kirland, while GGG fights the second top guy in his division and doesnt Vacate.

So you think September 16 is Irish independence day? Having a Mayweather Conor fight on that weekend is a fantasy. If the fight takes place, they will try to maximize revenue and CHOOSING to fight on a weekend when there is another big boxing attraction instead of weekend when you have the field all to yourself makes no financial sense. Triple G look like he overtrained for his last 2 fights and it's starting to show,, he said Brook was his toughest opponent before he fought him and the same about Jacobs. He left it all in the gym overtrained his body and that's why his last 2 performances weren't so Great.. Some people see that and say it's his age though

Yup the Jacobs fight and how negotiations played out is another head scratcher that screams K2 is amateur hour. They had a Dec HBO date and blew because they were being cheap and difficult. Squabbling with Jacobs over peanuts. Causing them to lose the Dec date a shot at fighting 3 times in 2016 and their schedule of fighting TWICE before a Sept Canelo date. What money they had to sacrifice back in Sept/Oct to make the fight in Dec they would of more the made up for by fighting twice Dec/April. Instead they cut off their nose to spite their face for a few pennies and instead of 2 paychecks got only 1 paycheck in March.

But the larger point is the narrative everyone is ducking GGG...BS him and his joke squad promoter are turning down fights or making fights difficult. Jacobs was like pulling teeth just to get made. We see the circus Saunders was and at the end of the day Warren and company exposed Loeffler as a lying scumbag. You saw how they got exposed with ward. You see what went on with froch and on and on. They foolishly killed a 2016 canelo fight by refusing to drop a few lbs even though they are record saying 154 or 168 and said BEFORE canelo/cotto no problem going down in weight for a fight with canelo. But they switched up months later by thinking the mando gave them leverage to dictate terms to the A side and it backfired. Before jacobs fight had 15m offer to fight canelo and they turned it down. The same idiot who made only 2.5m to fight jacobs turned down a career 15m payday? People will fight GGG but they refuse to make any concessions either refuse to go up or down in weight, price them selves out, or one excuse after another why they turn down fights. At some point the problem isn't everybody else GGG is the one constant and foolish business decisions are why he is 35 with no big names to speak of.

You nailed it! I think it is too late for Golovkin in many ways, but the other fighters represented by Loeffler should start bailing out. Given the incompetence, the managers of young fighters starting their career are going to think twice about having K2 to represent them.
