Floyd has assumed control of all the Sept and May dates. Because those are the best dates to maximize revenue. This is a fight where it's either going to happen on Sept.16, or it's not going to happen at all.

Mayweather vs. Conor will have much more money behind it to promote the fight than GGG vs. Canelo.

There was no Mexican stars fights going on. So of course they were gonna buy the fight. We still LOVE boxing...

No. GGG signed a contract to work for them...thats why he doesnt fight for other promoters...and does what hes told. The sport has had a number of fighters sit out recently...simply because refusal to do as their promoters asked meant they couldnt fight at all. Do you understand the fight game?

I called it last year. GGG is now like everyone else, a two fight a year fighter.

The WBA is absolutely irelavent here. I could see them negotiating even past the purse bid like what what happened for Abraham vs Ramirez. WBA's deadlines mean squat even if they actually enforced them. Golovkin/K2 has wasted time negotiating with Jacobs because they wanted to waste time with Jacobs, not because of anything to with Jacobs being a mandatory for the WBA. They could have enforced a purse bid long ago, if they wanted it. That's what so mind boggling about this. GGG could have fought 3 times this year, and still have fought Jacobs exactly at the same time they're planning on now. I don't know what K2 is thinking. Have they already abandoned their stragedy of keeping GGG active? If the Canelo fight happens, I could see GGG fighting only twice again this year.

If Jacobs doesn't want to fight GGG at all, this whole negotiation is a waste of time because it's not gonna happen regardless.

If Jacobs was the super champion, he would have a lot to lose, but he isn't. Losing a kiddie version of the WBA means nothing. Not fighting GGG while keeping the Kiddie WBA belt would be as equally embarrassing as vacating while not fighting GGG. It's the fact that he would duck GGG, not the Kiddie WBA belt that matters in fan's perspective.

None of this explains why it makes sense for GGG to put everything on hold for Jacobs. Jacobs is not a highly coveted fighter. Jacobs is not popular. Jacobs has never been in a fight that has had more than 600k viewers in ratings. GGG is losing money by skipping a third fight this year for Jacobs alone in April.

The only explanation is that GGG is now a two fight per year fighter by choice.

Absolutely nothing prevented GGG from fighting 3 times last year, and nothing prevented GGG from fighting 3 times this year.

Wait so Canelo ALREADY stole the Cotto fight from GGG, stole Chavez (according to Abel his Dream fight for GGG) and now might steal Saunders along with the paper WBO belt that GGG covets so badly? That would be the hat trick for Canelo. LMAO

GGG has ZERO leverage now, must just take whatever offer Golden Boy has on the table today because if he waits till after Chavez fight the offer will drop. He getting ****d at the negotiations table should of taken the 15m offer BEFORE the Jacobs fight. K2 look like phuking amateurs

Word...Golovkin has no leverage at all and what little that he had went out the window with that fight against Jacobs. At that point he should have seen what was out there for the Canelo fight and never even entertained an idea to fight Saunders.

Now by releasing that they wanted Saunders to unify and then pulled out, they are now looking bad from a PR perspective. They were getting played by Canelo and GB way before this...now they really look foolish.

Lol you can call it WWE **** all you want, the reality is that freak shows sell. That fight will easily do 2M PPV buys, no matter how much you dislike it.

Conor is the biggest name in combat sports. Bigger than Canelo and bigger than Floyd. He probably has more Mexican fans than Canelo. The MMA crowd will tune in, the boxing crowd will tune. Canelo will have to take a backseat to King Conor.
