Did Kovalev overtrained for the first fight?

He admits his energy levels went down after 5 rounds and he thinks he overtrained for the first fight. He mentioned that he trained much more than ever before and is now coming back to his 'normal' training regime.

What do you think about this one? Is the energy drop that we saw the sign of overtraining?

no energy drop had nothing to do with his training...the problem with fighters like kovalev is that they rely to much in their power and want to finish the fight as soon as possible that wen they go the distance they have no stamina and energy left..

I didn't see it in Hopkins fight, although old Hopkins didn't cause problems Ward caused. However, I find it a bitt strange he says he fought 7 rounds with pure determination but he felt empty. Maybe after 8 or 9, but not 5...

I thought there were some rumors that John David Jackson and Kovalev didn't really get along and that the training camp wasn't the best.

So when Ward wins again his excuse will be he didn't train enough.

Something tells me Ward is going to break that body and KOV is getting taken out in the later rounds

He said in one of the interviews that he messed up his training by training at high altitude for too long, which made him very sluggish after 7 rounds. I randomly keep thinking about that interview whenever another 'Chavez Jr is training at high altitude' article comes out. Wouldn't be surprised if he gassed after 6 as well.

Maybe. I'm worried about his current weight. He looks heavy.
