While Valero was much more than the one-dimensional puncher some believe him to be - possessing speed, footwork, and the ability to box. Lomachenko was simply levels above him in every category save punching power.
He wouldn't be able to handle Lomachenko's angles.

It kind of reminds me of Tony Ayala. No way in hell would Tony Ayala have beaten Mike McCallum, Ray Leonard, and the revived Duran at 154 but people still romanticize about Ayala. Ayala was mentally weak and decided instead to torture and **** a woman. And Valero was mentally weak as well when he imploded. Those guys KTFO themselves....no one had to do it for them.
