Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Sees No Reason To Beat Up an "Old" Pacquiao

Last year, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum mentioned that his "dream fight" was a catch-weight battle between two of his most talented fighters, Vasyl Lomachenko and Manny Pacquiao. Both camps expressed interest in the fight, but they were worlds apart on the weight. Lomachenko felt he was too small to fight Pacquiao at anything higher than 135-pounds - while Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, demanded a weight limit of 140-pounds. At the moment Lomachenko is the WBO world champion at 126-pounds, while Pacquiao the WBO champion at 147-pounds.

Yep. Berchelt, Davis, Linares or Garcia are the ones to target.

It would be a shame if Pacquiao is still fighting in three years.

130/135 has enough names to keep Loma busy for a while.

I agree with Loma, no use in beating an old Pacman, just fight those young guns and carve your own name. Bob needs to put this guy on talk shows man, he isnt getting enough exposure.

I like Loma he fights in the pocket in and out, side to side, most of these so called great slickdefensive guys are just guys always moving backward with like 4 feet in front of them and just fighting scary pot shotting forcing the guy to come forward, this guy Loma is special, defensive but highly offensive real sweet science here.

Yes. Corrales,Berchelt,Davis,Linares & Garcia are enough good opponents for Lomachenko in the next 2-2,5 years before he likely moves up to 140 in 2019.

Mikey has no intention of fighting lomachenko or terance crawford or anyone else who has a great chance of beating him. Hence why he left top rank in the first place and sit on the sidelines rather than face gamboa. Hes using these fighters names to draw attentiom but will never actually fight them. Hes satisfied fighting the flanagans of the sport

Loma beating up Pacquiao, even right now, would help him cross over A LOT
