you are questioning him because he lost to a bigger, rowdier and dirtier veteran on his second fight out? Wow....

Wow... not only has he grown since then but he continues to improve so much that he is now toying with pretty damn good fighters and making them look like novice boxers. He swept Russel, made Walters quit after schooling him, played with Sosa and brutalized Martinez. Lomachenko is the ONE.

I think I'd still lean Garcia over him at 135. I think at some point Garcia lands clean and his power is too much for Lomachenko. I think the winner of Berchelt/Miura could make things interesting. Barthelemy at 135 or 140 would be a tough matchup. Can't envision a way he beats Crawford at 140 if you wanna take it that far

The only fighter around that weight class that has a shot is Mikey imo. Mikey does have accuracy and power to keep him honest.

But I'm not sure Mikey has the stamina to keep up with him.

Lomachenko is really skilled, but what really sets him apart is the pace he sets. Fighters just get overwhelmed and by the 10th round, after they've absorbed 200+ punches, he's still ready throw like 80+ more. I can't think of a fighter that can set that type of pace for 12 rounds, and throw that many accurate punches.

Sosa is a grade F bum. Mikey knocked out Martinez too but Mikey isn't white.

You can feel free to hang your hat on that and cling to it, nobody is touching him. He's the best fighter in the world and he has the experience.

Pathetic, still making excuses 3 years later.

That's what I'm concerned. Loma's style is what a Power punching counter puncher would want to set up and land a bomb, and trying to catch him swinging and that's what Garcia has. Garcia displayed power, timing, strength, size, skill, chin against every opponent he has faced, and Lomachenko has the skills to beat him, but with Mikey's skills and ability to time the opponent at just the right moment at just the right time with his murderous power it could be too much.

Good post. I love how he finds or creates angles, hammers and forces defensive guards open by pawing or knocking his opponents gloves down, all the while he's on offense non stop. That's simply breathtaking.

I agree. In my head I envision Lomachenko out-boxing Garcia, being up something like 6-2 or 6-3 on the cards and being countered with a huge right from Garcia and not being able to survive. That's why I want to see both guys have a few more fights in their division before they go at it, to get a better idea of what we might be looking at.

I love weight cheating and blatant low blows being described as excuses.

Boxing fans are unbelievably petty and defensive when it comes to guys they don't like, for whatever reason.

He's too skilled man. I LOVE Mikey and that will be his stiffest test, but I know a special fighter when I see one. It doesn't matter how hard you punch if you can't land.
