Wasn't aware of this. But sounds like standard boxing bs so makes sense to how boxing works still sadly.

They need to update the Muhammad Ali Act & call it the No Bullsh^t in Boxing Act. I'll help write that sh^t. And for sure options would be off the table.
You didn't know that because what he just told you is total bull****. Joe was in fact the one that wanted the rematch clause and they also wanted PART of the gate money but GYM being the greedy ****s that they are walked away from it.

In a voluntary fight the challenger doesn't get a rematch clause, only the champion. The champ is giving you an opportunity, why would he give you another one if he wins? Now if you beat him you get a chance to win your belt back. If Smith was looking for a rematch clause that proved what I said about his promoter killing the fight

Ok... So you're telling me something I already know.

But why are you telling people to blame's Joe's promoter because he didn't want a rematch clause?

Maybe you need to stop threatening people's kids online and go back to school so you can brush up on your English.

So I had it backwards but it's still the same. The challenger wanting a rematch clause in a voluntary defense kills the fight. So like I said, blame his promoter for his outrageous demands

"I see that he's blaming Adonis but I'll tell you why we aren't fighting Joe Smith. He's not fighting Joe Smith because Joe Deguardia believes Joe Smith is the A-side fighter. He wants to control the arena, he wants to control the ticket sales. He doesn't want to commit to options - like we have the champion, he has the contender. So we tried," Michel said. - See more at: http://www.boxingscene.com/adonis-stevenson-promoter-fires-back-deguardia-over-smith--113716#sthash.GsD5CQJX.dpuf

This is boxing *said in GGG's voice*

Don't ask for gate money & then be surprised things go south with fight talks. Also Smith's people are the guys who are buttf#cking Algieri (& probably Smith too) so I look for opportunities to say f#ck those guys & I suspect they were the ones asking for gate money more than Smith anyway..

And not saying its fair, but thats the business today in particular when you are being chosen for a voluntary defense.

Fonfara is a good fighter, but it's a rematch & Stevenson's "reign" is an absolute joke. He may have the Lineal title, but nobody believes he's the real champion and very few believe he beats either Ward or Kovalev, 2 real champions who seek the best fighters & biggest challenges. Such a shame he never got the shot at Froch when at SMW, who would have withstood what he had and ground him down to a hard late stoppage.

Added to that he has got one of the biggest mouths in boxing and used to be a violent pimp. What's to like? Knock him out , Fonfara

Comments Thread For: Adonis Stevenson vs. Andrzej Fonfara Rematch on June 3

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (28-1, 23 KOs) would not return to the ring in late April against undefeated contender Sean Monaghan at the Nassau Coliseum in New York. Stevenson has now revealed that he's finalized a deal to fight tough Polish contender Andrzej Fonfara (29-4, 17 KOs) in a rematch on June 3rd, and the fight will take place in Canada.

                      Fair enough fight

The thing is though, Stevenson is on an almost unmatched overmatched opponent streak. The Fonfara rematch doesn't make up for that. He really needs a big fight to bring himself back into relevancy.

The big dogs at 175 are about to rematch, and no one cares about Stevenson. Surely that must sting
