The problem is not that Canelo has become a coward, it is that he has become a diva.

Boxing fans kind of expect that at the end of a boxer's career. They can forgive it when a fighter has only got a couple of big fights left in them. But Canelo is too young to go down that road yet.

Canelo had fans all around the world not long ago. Now I see as many detractors as there are fans, things have changed for the worse and it hasn't taken long.

Mexican fighters are loved for their courage, their willingness to fight, their toughness and their thirst to prove that they are the best. They are loved for being the exact opposite of divas. I think this is part of why Canelo is turning so many people away from him.

Personally, I see this as being ODLH's fault. I see his hand in it. I'd love to see Canelo leave ODLH behind. He is young and has already done a fair bit. He could be in great fights for the next ten years - the kind of fights that people will be talking about for a long time. He could easily end up taking his place amongst the other Mexican greats.

Because Canelo, at heart, is the typical Mexican fighter. Courage, toughness, willingness to prove himself. But with ODLH guiding him, he is none of that. With ODLH he is the opposite of that. He is a diva.
