'Furners' complain all the time about our system here in the States. But I don't see any of em stepping up to the plate to fund us to switch over. Wouldn't be cheap to do the changeover. Everything from signs to schools to speedometers to any and everything in between. It would be a nightmare keeping it all together.

'Furners' complain all the time about our system here in the States. But I don't see any of em stepping up to the plate to fund us to switch over. Wouldn't be cheap to do the changeover. Everything from signs to schools to speedometers to any and everything in between. It would be a nightmare keeping it all together.

I agree about the extreme cost of it all. I'm saying, they shouldn't have gone their own way with measurements years ago after the British left. They should have just kept with a common standard because there was no logical reason to switch.

And I say this as a 'Murican. Hell, I have my temperature gauges set to display Celsius rather than Fahrenheit because it makes more sense to me.

It is what it is, and will always be that way here. We have infrastructure issues out the wazoo that need addressing, as well as a long list of other domestic woes to throw money at. Every prez for decades has nixed it any time the subject comes up. Now watch, Dump will ok it just to skroo things up even worse. LOL
