Comments Thread For: Felix Diaz: Controversial Lamont Peterson Loss Helped My Career

New York - Felix Diaz (19-1, 9 KO's) got the fight he wanted. For months the once-beaten boxer had been vocally campaigning for a fight with WBC, WBO junior welterweight world champion Terence Crawford. His promoter Lou Dibella sent out press releases to the media, stating that his guy was available for Crawford when HBO had turned down other opponents.

Diaz is always in the wrong side of decisions, they took away the w over Peterson and almost did the same against Vasquez and Granados.

That's great for him. Scorecard's don't mean **** and are just for entertainment. Great performances will be rewarded.

Of all places to have Crawford fight a Dominican. NYC! Good for Arum, bad for TC! This could get ugly! Diaz is very high-risk, low reward!

I can see Diaz winning this fight. Dude is relentless and doesn't get discouraged.

            Diaz winning? High risk?

This guy didn't show to be any better than Peterson

How is he going to touch Crawford? Stop being silly. This is a stay busy fight for Crawford until he lands something big

He clearly beat Peterson. He's Crawford's toughest test to date, the guy is very skilled and can mix it up, he's very strong on the inside and he's got a good output.

                Good fight, worthy of HBO.

No, he didn't clearly beat Peterson. I wouldn't argue if you thought he won, but that was a close fight.

Peterson swept the first three and there are a few rounds which can go either way depending on perspective.

If he really was as good an opponent as you're making out, he would have left no doubt in the decision against someone the calibre of Peterson.

With 45% KO ratio, he won't land anything big

But he would be the best name in Crawford's resume so far
