Thomas Hearns didn't get the money he needed to fund his gym.

Last year he was asking for money to build a new gym.

Sadly he was only able to get $620 when he needed like 150k if I remember correctly.

Sucks to hear. Wish boxing could do something for their vets the way other sports do for theirs

It hurts to see one of the greatest of all time and one of my three favorite boxers reaching this point.

There are fighters out there who spend that much in one night at a strip club, too bad they can't help an ATG get a gym started.

$150,000 to open a boxing gym? Go f#ck yourself man. No surprise he only got $620 if thats what he was asking for. I mean Hearns was a bad mofo & I'm a fan, but you don't need $150k to open a boxing gym. You can probably rent a spot for $1k-$2k a month & then go & spend $5k or less on equipment. Might need to put a ring on layaway or use a mat for awhile, but prove your profitable & can run a gym before you go asking for that much money. Wut the f#ck lol.

Why should anyone give a handout to someone who screwed up the millions of dollars he/she once had? Sounds like a great investment. And Eff Pandas is correct, sounds like Hearns is looking into silver gloves and gucci heaybags.

Smh and this is why you dont get in boxing wars for the fans. Floyd was one smart mutha****å and didn't have to get brutally knocked out like Duran or Hearns to prove how much of a warrior he was. If this is what legacy is all about ill take the Mayweather route everytime.
