He's laughing at certain 'fans' we have on this site, guys.
Which Do You Respect More: Being "A Side" or "Unified Champ"
Collapse

Of course the A side. World titles and fighting top contenders are what's killing boxing.
Who needs actual fights when they can just negotiate? That way fighters avoid taking punishment, avoid being screwed over by judges and can still earn big bucks. We should just do away with all of that fighting crap and just have fighters negotiate against other. People would rather watch that over boring Ward.
Then you wouldn't even need weight classes. Can you imagine a negotiating session between Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua? Tat would dominate news headlines, generate tons of clicks and get 1000 responses in a thread.
Whoever wins that battle would be the pound for pound king of negotiations.Comment

Yeah, this question is weird.
In evaluation of the boxer, all things being equal, I would probably respect a unified champ more.
In negotiations, by definition, the "A-side" is going to be "respected" with more $$, other concessions.
Ultimately, since Im not on any boxer's team, just make the damn fight. I'll respect who performs better.Comment

didn't vote, because it depends
Bernard Hopkins was the "unified champ"; he defended his IBF belt for a long time, knocked off the WBC champion, knocked off the WBA champion, made four more defenses of his three belts, and then gave up 5 pounds to knock off the WBO champion to unify.
Oscar De La Hoya was the "A-side", fighting his way to his status and not backing down from much, but ended up losing basically every big fight that he ended up agreeing to.
Who gets the respect? Oscar's guts are commendable, but you've got to respect proven ability.Comment

Unified champ all day long! A Side could be anybody, but the unified champ fought the man and beat the man. That means a lot more. Boxing needs unified champs really bad at this point.Comment

Man. That sig. Ha. I'm a big El Terrible fan, but that is some dark philosophy. Of course, it might also be true...Yeah, this question is weird.

I see you always rate the troll threads like C-,D or D-Obviously being a unified title holder cuz A side is a status that can be earned without a high level of in the ring skills. Plus often enough being a multiple title holder comes with the ability to be the A side in most or all fight talks, while being the A side never comes with title belts so theres that angle too.
Weird question or C- troll thread.
What's a A+ troll thread bruh?
