  • Comments Thread For: Andre Ward to Kovalev: This Time, Leave the Excuses at Home

Andre Ward has answered skeptics who doubted his rematch against Sergey Kovalev would come off June 17 in Las Vegas. Ward announced Tuesday afternoon that a deal has been finalized for their rematch with a short Twitter message. Ward's Tweet read: I'm going to keep it short & sweet, you got what you asked for, now you have to see me JUNE 17. This time leave the excuses at home. #EARNED.

Ward got lucky the first time with the cards. That said, by the end of the fight, the momentum was all Ward. He has figured Sergey out. The rematch will be a clear, comfortable UD for Ward.

It sucks that this fight wasn't a bigger draw than the ppv numbers that came out and the crowd of a little over 13,000 for the 20,000 seat T-mobile Arena suggested. This was the biggest fight in boxing last year from all the fights that happened. Now it's going to be in the smaller 12,000 seat Mandalay Bay. Oh well, it is what it is.

He let the foot off the pedal and outboxed him instead, now the game plan is KILL.

Save your money lol Ward was caught flush and got up and finished the fight. It's unlikely he gets caught that clean again.

Ward's funny, the look on his face when they announced his name as the winner says it all, it was pure shock.
