I don't get why so many fans dislike Ward. He never ducks anyone & I knew he wouldn't duck a rematch. He was just saying all the stuff he did to try to get the best deal possible but he never intended to not fight Kovalev again.

I like Ward but he can come off as sanctimonious when he's no different than anyone else, in terms of the business. As a person he seems like a good dude, but he's not above anyone else in this business, like get over yourself in terms of that, dude.

I think a part of it is frustration on his end that he doesn't have as big of a fan base as some other fighters. I think Ward is the most skilled fighter in boxing, but I guess due to not being a natural trash talker like a Mayweather or not having the most crowd pleasing style to watch he doesn't connect with a huge base of fans like some others. Maybe he feels he's not getting the recognition he feels he deserves, I'm not really sure though.
