Wasn't Chavez 178 not that long ago? Man if he can get down there without being drained, the way Jacobs did against Golovkin, damn could be a god fight.

We are stuck with this fight anyway so hopefully both guys come in top form
He doesnt need to "lose" them. If he gets to within 10lbs of the contraxct weight he'll make it with a "water cut" then rehydrate back up to +180lbs for fight time.

Cautiously optimistic that he is, in fact, taking this seriously.

Many fighters get in the sauna after training, it not only makes them sweat but the heat relaxes their tense muscles..nothing wrong wit it

It depends on how much water weight he's currently carrying. From the pic he looks pretty skinny already. That last 8 pounds could put him in the hospital. I trust his strength and conditioning team (although I've heard nothing about testing for this fight), just hope he's able to safely perform in the ring. I mean this guy has struggled to make 168 and 175 in the past. I'm a little worried.

but if he pulls off a competitive fight, this could save his career and family legacy.

The sauna is a test to see his fluid loses. Once they gauge the loss then they re hydrate and get a better idea of when and how to cut more and more.
It is beneficial if they can limit the heavy plastic suit with the jump rope and chew and spit! That really takes a toll on a fighter.

I don't see this kid hanging with Canelo but it just might be a test for him if Junior is in condition and willing!
He will be 180 come bell time and Canelo will be too.
So the light heavyweights will be in action.
