"Which trainer would you choose if you were a boxer?"

Sounds like you are talking about current trainers?

I also would add Nacho to the list as well as Joel Diaz, Ronnie Shields, James “Buddy” McGirt, Sr, John David Jackson across the pond Joe Gallagher, Rob McCracken and Shane McGuigan.

Another All Time trainer I was thinking of besides Steward and D'Amato was Lou Duva, though I'd probably still choose D'Amato or even Steward over him, but Lou Duva was another one that came to mind.

One thing I always remember during the Chavez-Taylor fight and Jim Lampley says, "You're going to watch Lou Duva goes crazy now, you're going to watch Lou Duva goes absolutely beserk."

And when they took him out of the ring on a stretcher after the Bowe-Golota riot in Madison Square Garden.

      Memories!

Peter Fury.. I think you need to be the right kind of fighter, a 'fighting man' to get his best really, but he knows his stuff, this is the man that put a game plan together to beat klitschko, in germany, by decision, without a single knock down.. I just like his vids, he talks sense

I think with all trainers, there isnt a 'best' per se, but a best combination of boxer & trainer maybe. Everyone has their own style of fighting and a boxer probs shouldn't look to change it, but find a good coach to maximise and exploit it.

Lomachenko is a decent pick, does he train Usyk and Gvosdyk in the pro's too? He was national team coach, and his philosophy on getting Vasyl to learn dancing told me this guy is seeing the game different. Language barrier is definitely a problem in the heat of the corner in a tough fight..

Robert Garcia he knows what hes doing and he knows how to speak to a fighter in teh corner when it comes time to it all the others aint got no corner skills one whispers sweet love nothings to you, the other just trys to be "correct" for the cameras, one is a lil too extra with it, one doesnt know what the hell hes doing he just tell you whatever your best punch is to land it, and one speaks russian.

Good question, probably Freddie Roach as he did a great job with Miguel Cotto and many others.

No Nacho on the poll? One star thread.
Especially now since his health is deteriorating.
