Watching big fights at a movie theater???

After hearing the news that Canelo vs Chavez Jr. Will be shown in select theaters, I thought it would be interesting to hit up the movies and take my Dad. It sounds like fun. Watching a big fight on the big screen.

Have any of you guys seen any fights in a theater? What was your experience?

Yea I saw mayweather-Ortiz at the theatre and I probably won't do it again.

It is kinda gay sitting in front of a giant screen with no alcohol and you can't even smoke and sht.

But the worst part about theatre experience was that there were a bunch of casuals making ****** noises..

    Overall the experience wasn't pleasant.

Saw Mayweather Guerrero at a theater. Not bad at all compared seeing it at a bar.

The behavior and talking of casuals was no worse than at your average sports bar ppv. The screen/viewing experience is great, especially since you and your dad won't be fighting for a seat or room to see the TVs at a bar.

My recommendation is to take a flask or your mini bottles of your favorite spirit. Buy the refillable soda at the theater.

Having said that, pick the theater the same way you'd pick the sports bar at which you'd watch the fight. Consider if you want to be in a lively locale with the potential of rowdy/overly passionate fans or just a chill location to sit back and just watch the fight.

          I've seen 2 fights inside a movie theater. Mayweather-Cotto and Cotto-Canelo

Both experiences were great!! Seeing a big fight on the giant movie screen is a different experience, it's awesome. The surround sound is awesome, loud as hell. Seeing the fighters on screen three times your size is pretty cool. From the times I went the crowd was cool, cheering for their fighters but nothing rowdy or absurd, they were cool. And this was in two different theaters that I saw these 2 fights and my experience was great. I definitely recommend it. Yes take your dad and have a great time. You won't regret it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Have Fun!

I watched Mayweather/Ortiz in a theater in San Antonio. It was fun until the end when I realized I was one of the only ones for Mayweather and I was surrounded by gang members.

I would if it's allowed to drink and vape.
Naa. I'm okay with a 55" screen tv.

I've thought about going to a theatre too but the no alcohol thing kind of ruined that ...

I would love to watch fights at a cinema, but you wont find any cinemas in germany showing fights. Is alcohol not normal in your cinemas? We can get beer and wine, although expensive, without problems.

I did it for Floyd vs Cotto and I really enjoyed it. It was a fairly small crowd in the theater but it was pretty entertaining to hear people's reactions based on who they were going for. Pretty pricey if I remember correctly though.
