It should be. I mean lets not become delusional about the accomplishments of each man because GBP is trying to sell a fight & the underdog happens to have a great fighters name.

He now needs to focus on more boxing and tactics rather than his weight. He's got a month left to figure out Canelo.

For this particular fight, that may not be the case.

There is no contest in terms of skill. Chavez is going to have a 4 inch height advantage, 2.5 inch reach advantage, and a 40 pound weight advantage.

GBP wouldn't put Saul Alvarez in a fight they didn't see him winning with ease at this point.

His size and height advantage will be an issue for Canelo but don't let that fool you too much, Chavez Jr is a mediocre fighter after all.

There really is such thing as "big for nothing".

The man was born with his father's chin and will walk into the ring near 180lbs

On those two measurements alone, the assumption was always that the fight would be a full day's work for Alvarez; the caveat was always that, with Chavez Jr's preparation being what it is, he wouldn't show up on fight night in shape to actually try to fight to win.

The photos from the camp seem to show that Chavez Jr is doing the work needed to come ready to fight (already being in the saunas and still over 175lbs has me glancing at some concern, though).

On pure ability, I still think that Alvarez is the better fighter, but, if Chavez Jr can properly shave off that final 10-12 pounds, Alvarez is walking into the ring with a 6'1, 180lb fighter who isn't going to go anywhere (Chavez Jr was able to go a full nine rounds with a legit light heavyweight fighter, and the only way it stopped was because he mentally quit on the fight).

Chavez Jr likely doesn't get stopped, but I don't think he has the ability to pick 7 of 12 rounds against Alvarez (because Alvarez doesn't seem like the type to go anywhere either).

At that weight Chávez is tough as a MF.
