Some fans are so supportive of their own kind they would be willing to look for excuses for the most *****iest thing coming from their fighters and I'm not willing to defend Kovalev for things I don't like about him like hot-headed or ignorant behavior, he's supposed to represent my country that's why I have higher set of standarts for him, and you (90% of boxing fans here) try to hold "your" fighters to lower standarts, that's the difference.

You start calling any person worthless and it's you it reflects on, man. What's so special about you or, say, the posters on here that makes 'em worth more? Stevenson is fun to watch and in all honesty, he has KOd absolute world class fighters more devastatingly than Kovalev has...BUT he and his team are what is wrong with boxing these days. Heck, the whole Stev/Kov situation is as problematic as it gets. We went from a 5-6 year wait for a fight between the two previous top guys to the next 2 top guys not even fighting.

I was watching a bunch of his fights the other day, and inside the squared circle, he sure is exciting.

Wasn't he the last or one of the last fighters trained by Emmanuel Steward (along with Andy Lee)? Quite a few of those boxers came from really tough circumstances and that Kronk Gym was their way out to a better life.

That's why it's so frustrating to watch him fight guys he's fighting.

His shameless past aside, Stevenson is a hell of a boxer. He might be the hardest p4p puncher in the game. I picked him to beat Kovalev when this fight was on the table and I still think he will if they ever meet up.
