Mayweather isnt the only fighter in history with that kind of dedication tbf. Far from it.

Floyd byfar. Skills he showed against this level of opposition. 80% of his opponents were 15lbs bigger than him, ad he didnt have the power to hurt them. So he effortlessly humiliated them on pure abilities. Stands in front of you and pops you everytime you do some dumbshiet, whether he has to lead, counter, etc. He can go backwards, forwards, on the ropes.

This man is the greatest fighter of all existence, and its not even close. Most underrated fighter of all time, because the distance between him and the other legends, is so great, that everyone should easily think of his name when you mention The Greatest. Im happy to have been in this era. I used to be shocked that I was witnessing this, and then I would spend the week rewatching the fight over and over again. After the Canelo fight, he started running and fighting sloppy, lost his accuracy. I knew he was done, but it wasnt going to last forever. He was amazing imo

The weight thing is massively overstated for Floyd imo. He was light because he trained to be light due to the advantages it would give him. He wasnt small at SFW-LWW but got outweighed there.

He only weighed 150 fight night at WW but couldnt drop down to 144 for Marquez. He was a natural WW by the end of his career and i never got the impression he was dwarfed in size other than when he went to JMW. He looked bigger than Hatton, a natural JWW when they fought.

Not to take away from his skillset. Best defensive fighter ever imo

I wouldn't say sloppy, he used the tools he had the best they could be used. The win over Berto, though not an A level fighter showed the skill, the legs were still pretty good, accuracy still showed, I thought he looked great at 38 years old. I was glad he decided to hang them up.

Floyd refined his technique and fundamentals as something to fall back on, but also took advantage of his raw talent in the ring. He balanced the two out very well.

Ali relied more heavily on his raw talent making it harder for him later in his career.

I think resume is the most important thing in ranking a fighters ability. However there are a few instances when a fighter was so far ahead of his competition, an argument can be made he is more skilled than a fighter with a better resume.

It is flatout not understated, He was a natural ww, but coming in the ring at 150 against men 15lbs bigger, constantly, from fight to fight, is really staggering to say the least.

And Idgaf about Hatton, thats not one of Floyd's meaningful fights. For me personally, everything he did from 2009 until retirement, where every single fight(minus JMM), he was facing a man 15lbs bigger, and sometimes half his age. Humiliated them. Imagine making SRL shorter, making him 37yrs old, taking his power, and asking him to humiliate these big young guys, he would get killed in the ring. In fact, their aint a fighter in history that could be at the circumstantial disadvantages of Floyd, and put on that type of performance.

And I dont look at Floyd as a "defensive" boxer. I look at him as a pureboxer. Every single mistake you make, he capitalizes, whether he has to lead or counter. He dont do all that bobbing and weaving, flashy trash that Pernell and Pep did.

Floyd goes out their, throws the first punch, and after that, expect a whitewash Lol

His accuracy was shot to pieces imo. From JMM, to Canelo, Floyd would effortlessly land every thing, and it was humiliating. He had you running into punches like a fool Lol But after that Canelo fight, he was missing every shot he threw.

I agree, Im happy he hung em up and I dont want him to fight CM
