I can't fathom why you feel anyone in Kell's team is making that assumption. I cannot understand where you get that from, other than your own misplaced logic. Kell saying he's going for the knockout, that Spence has bitten off more than he can chew, or any other mind games don't count for anything. That's standard pre-fight banter.

Staying down and defending his title against the sport's next superstar, or 'heir apparent' doesn't mean he views him as an easy option and like I said, the alternate is to give up his title and be called a Duck.

Everyone is aware of the hype surrounding Spence. To such an extent that Kell is now being seen as a walkover.

That's just the point.

Kell ISN'T a walkover.

He is anything but, one of the best welters in the world.

But come fight night, a lotta folks are going to find out that there was no hype at all.

Spence is THAT good.

No problem.

Kell proved he was one of the best against Porter.

I thought Shawn won, but had no problem with the scorecards 'cause it was that close.

And I just don't now how many welters, elite or otherwise, climb into the ring with Lil g and are able to talk the same afterwards.

For that alone Kell gets props.

The Brook fans just are not getting it.

And they probably won't until Kell is laid out on the canvas trying in vain to beat the count.

I hate to triangulate but in this case it is kinda necessary and may even be relevant.

Kell has a loss to Golovkin by stoppage and a debatable win over Porter.

Errol has stoppage wins vs Algieri and Buntu.

Now yes, styles do make fights and what could happen in the ring may be completely different, but right now let's go with logical assumptions from what we have:

Porter went on to also lose to Thurman. A clearer loss than the one to Brook.

Golovkin had a little trouble with Kell's ability and hand speed but eventually his power won out.

These two things are red flags for Brook fans.

Why?

1) Because Thurman beat Porter easier than Brook did. The same Thurman that went the distance with Bundu; Spence needed less than 6 rounds for Bundu.

2) Kell's advantages in skill and hand speed kept Golovkin at bay for a while;
but, while Errol doesn't punch like Lil g, he is worlds better skillwise and has fast hands of his own. He will be able to deliver his power in ways Golovkin could not. The beating might actually be worse coming from Spence.

Why is Algieri important? Normally a contender type doesn't enter into convos about elites but it is very important here. No one had ever stopped Chris. Not Provo, not Pac, and not Khan.

Errol did.

Inside 5 rounds.

That's the level of fighter Brook is dealing with.

Someone who is making it look easy against guys other elites had a tougher time with.

Spence is going to destroy Brook.

I just hopes Kell gets himself a nice payday 'cause it might be the last one.
