Of course he would, this is stating the obvious. Canelo body of work had earned him his PPV position since losing to TBE. He has taken on fights/fighters that he could have avoided. Fighting Trout and Lara in my book shows this guy would fight anyone, now that he earned himself the "A-side" status that is so prestigious in boxing, he can make demand of his opponents, when he wasn't the A-side he had to shut up and take fights like Lara and Trout.

Again, don't make it sound like he's being forced to fight Chavez. He's moving up to 164.5 because they see Chavez as an easy target that will grow the Canelo brand.
Oh please, Lemieux and Brook would whoop those three names. Cotto and Mosley were old and past their prime. Who wouldn't fight Mayweather given the opportunity? I'll give you Lara, props to him for taking a tough fight. It's easier for Canelo to get big names to fight him because of the money. Just look at what happened with Eubanks, Sanders and Jacobs last year.Kirkland, khan, smith are canelo's B side opponents on his resume and they still better the most of the top names on GGG resume. In addition to those guys canelo has fought cotto, floyd, chavez, trout, mosley, lara all by the age of 26. GGG 35 and you still making excuses for why he can't make a big fight. SMHComment

Because they are all free agents trying to get the biggest slice of the pie they can and boxing is driven by hype and BS, UFC has an overseer that's dictates what fighters get.
If boxing was controlled by a group of say 5 qualified persons like Judges that could decide whether an offer was reasonable and should be accepted or it should be altered in such and such way to be a fair deal for both sides.
Once that is attained have the power to enforce it or state publicly that one side does not want the fight, this could change boxing because the real guys would be ******** and the blow-hard exposed, as it stands they can come out and talk all kinds of BS to get out of making fights.Last edited by Reloaded; 04-01-2017, 12:52 AM.Comment

Bingo! judging by GGG ppv buys he don't have a lot of fans but the few he does have bought into his BS and as long as that's all he cares about and they defend his level of opposition he has no reason to give them something better. Just don't complain about him not getting bigger fights when he is the one preventing these fights by calling guys out who have NEVER fought at his weight then refusing to fight them at their weight. Or when he likely has never actually drawn even 100k ppvs. yet he out his own mouth said he wanted a 50/50 split to fight canelo who has literally drawn millions and millions of ppvs I his career. Even canelo worst ppv have drawn double to triple what GGG has done. It's laughable his requests but his idiot fans are fooled into thinking others are ducking him. A narrative that dies the longer his career goes on and we see how he refuses to give an concessions despite not being a ppv draw.
But he can stay his course and history will not be kind to him and he'll be less rich when he retires.Comment

If its so easy to do then why at age 35 has GGG refused to ever go up or down 4 lbs to INCREASE his brand? He wont even drop a single lb LMAO Don't cry because canelo does things to land big fights that GGG refuses. He gave up weight and money name when GGG ever did either? He turned down both ward at 168 and canelo at 155 and those are the 2 biggest fights offered in his career. It's easy to say bum fighters GGG faced without half the resume of guys canelo faced would beat them. Cotto destroyed one of the best names of GGG entire resume Geale and looked better then GGG doing it. He's a hall of famer for a reason and none of the guys you named are on anyone p4p lists let alone pegged for hall of fame. Canelo has also at age 26 beaten twice as many world champions as GGG has at age 35. Clearly a MW? He has never fought at 160 and just made 154 his last fight. The highest he has ever weighed in his entire career is 155. Stop talking out your azz. Floyd fought Oscar and cotto at 154 yet demanded 152 to canelo who was a unified 154 lb champ. That was the price to make the fight and he took it. He didn't cry about it and hope to get floyd at his own weight delaying and risking never getting the fight by making demands to the bigger A side star. He conceded to land the fight. Again don't blame others for doing what GGG refuses to do to land big fights. GGG isn't a ppv star but sure has irrational demands like one.
