Right now boxing fans seem to be all over the place when it comes to what golovkins next move should be. Some people demand an immediate Jacobs rematch,because they felt that Jacobs had won the fight (personally I had it 115-112 ggg,but I admit that it was a close fight).Others like the idea of unifying with saunders in June,and attaining that final strap. Of course,there are those who want golovkin to sit patiently,and wait to see if he finally lands the canelo fight.
So,what should he do?
I honestly think that he should fight Saunders in June for that final belt. Alot of people might disagree,but hear me out on this one. Saunders and warren seem to be more that happy to play ball,ever since that ggg was shown to be a bit more "human" in his last fight. The canelo fight is like winning the lottery,but by no means is it guaranteed. Both oscar and gomez are coming out with a myriad of reasons why gololvkin shouldn't fight in june,ranging from "theres not enough time to promote the fight" to "golovkin might get hurt or lose". This is pretty hypocritical considering the fact that that canelo is fighting chavez jr only a month before the proposed june date,and theres a verry possible chance that he might get hurt,either by breaking his hand over chavez's caveman head,or getting cut from a punch or headbutt. The canelo-ggg fight doesn't need any more promotion.Its the biggest fight that can be made in boxing right now,and for the past 2 years,canelo hasn't been able to walk around without the fans and media bombarding him with questions about when he will fight ggg. The fight will sell,and there's no need for further marination.
So here's my idea Fight saunders in june for the wbo strap,and try to get the canelo fight in september. If canelos people insist on there not being enough time,ggg can rematch jacobs in november/december,but the should try to get the canelo fight in writing for may 2018. What do you think he should do?
