This is damage control spin by Duva. The fight didn't happened because the money was a joke. Duva put her fighter in a purse bid that she lost then tried to force him to fight for peanuts. Barrera manager and team around him would of been fools to continue with the fight. Duva is not on the same page with her client because if she was this wouldn't dragged on as long as it did and fallen apart so publically. It's embarrassing for her company with her own fighter going rogue saying phuk you duva I'm not fighting. LMAO

Of course Beterbiev could of put up more money to avoid this if he really wanted the fight that bad. But the bigger issue is duva trying to put her own fighter in the Lions den for peanuts. GGG/Jacobs never went to purse bid so the whole he gave him more than 25% is irrelevant, especially when you don't what the bid would have been. GGG/Jacobs made a deal that suited both fighters in order to avoid going to purse bid. All this falls on Duva and Barrera, they agreed to the purse bid knowing the split. If Duva had the money she would have made a deal and pay both fighters and promoted the show herself but she doesn't and bid even lower knowing that the fight won't be that profitable.

Yes beterbiev had no obligation to pay a penny more. But diva wasted everyone's time refusing to pay for the fight herself and entering a bid she lost and knew was horrible for her fighter. Then tried to pressure her fighter to go on with the fight anyway. Then her fighters own manager finally protected the fighter and said no phuk you bytch we are not fighting for 60k. Duva is the most at fault for this mess.

Beterbiev had no obligation to put up more money as they agreed to the purse bid knowing the split. Barrera must of thought that this was a big fight to expect a bigger purse. He got 450k to fight Ward, but that was a big fight and even then he barely got 25% of the split. I doubt that hes getting paid near 100k for this fight, its a small show where the most expensive ticket is $75.
