Danish media: Mikkel Kessler makes comeback

38 year old Mikkel Kessler, has decided to return to the ring announces Saurland today.

His last fight was 4 years ago, when he lost a close fight to Carl Froch.

I don't believe it's the best idea to do a comeback, who would he fight? George Groves?

(Thoughts are being made that Kessler wants a third against Carl Froch, and I could see this happening with loads of happy fans buying to watch.)

I never saw this coming and I am kinda sad. I hoped he'd be one of the few to stay retired.

Anyway it looks like he's going to participate in World Boxing Super Series.

There'll be a press conference on Friday.

I am honestly also totally baffled about this move. I can understand it, there's a lot of money out there for him, and he is probably the biggest star at SMW already. I just really didn't see it coming either. I thought he was happily retired. Can you tell me what WBSS is? Haven't read about it.

I seriously hope that he still got it, but ofcourse at 38, it looks like a milk.

Mate. Kessler is done. He was clearly past it against Froch 4 years ago. A comeback at this point is a very bad idea.

It's the same old same old. Your favorite fighters always ends up making you cry. For me it has happened so many times with Ali and Leonard being the most notable. For me personally this will be up there. I will never get used to it.

Anyway given the sad state of Things today, a 38 year old Mikkel Kessler should easily enter the top 10 p4p list.

          P4p dishes obviously.

You are right mate, he looked like a slow brawler last time against Froch, 4 years out of the ring does not make you a better fighter. Damn.

Do we have any news about other fighters in this WBSS?

I don't think anything has been finalized yet. Bringing in Kessler, should make a lot of Guys interested. He presents a great name on your record.

The WBSS is Kalle Sauerlands new baby having also pitched the idea for the Super Six. I think I saw some news at one point where Copenhagen was mentioned as one of the host cities. That raised an eyebrow for me, but I had never expected it to be in conjunction with Mikkel Kessler making a comeback.
