Comments Thread For: Carson Jones: Kell Brook Will Beat Errol Spence!

Junior middleweight contender Carson Jones is backing his former rival, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs), to defeat mandatory challenger Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs). Brook will have the home advantage, when he face Spence on May 27th in Sheffield. Jones faced Brook on two occasions. They first fought in July of 2012. Brook barely escaped a knockout loss as he physically fell apart in the late rounds. He struggled to make the welterweight limit for that fight and walked away with a close twelve round majority decision.

#ManDown. Spence all the way. All this talk about Brook having experience is crazy. What experience? Brook only fought Porter and GGG. In the GGG fight he was just a punchbag and GGG wasn't even bothered about defence. This is a tough fight no doubt but Spence will methodically break Brook down. He will assassinate that body to take away the legs before taking the head off. If Brook doesn't go down he will take the knee. Expect another towel to be thrown into the ring.

What experience does Spence have? He's fought no-one.

Come on dude, you can't criticize Kell's lack of experience and then tell us Spence will put a beating on him in the same post.

If that happens, great for you all because you've really pumped this guy into the ultimate hype job, but Kell's supposed lack of experience won't be a factor in that, as Spence is still green and hasn't even fought 12 rounds yet.

Brook has the best experience possible; the first Jones fight.

He was dominant, beating Jones up and then gassed after 6 rounds. Not only was it a wake up call that made him get fully serious, it let him go through one of those gut check fights on the way up.

Spence is going to get that against a world class fighter. Let's see how he responds to being in there with a top guy that is more skilled than him, just as big as him and is going to hit back with genuine power.

Gervonta Davis had no experience either...

Spence is just the better fighter.

Styles make fights....size impacts the ability to impose your style on your opponent.

That said....Brook in the past has used his size advantage to thwart the offense of aggressive fighters. He won't be able to do that with Spence. On the flip side, Brook has been able to use his power to enforce his will on fighters till they fold or panic and get caught with KO shot. Brook won't fold or panic.

This fight comes down to three things, Spences whiskers and heart/focus and Brook's weight drain. My guess is that Spence brings his heart and focus and has enough whiskers to match Brook's weight drained power.

              Spence by clear UD

I would contend that Spence is more skilled and bigger where it will count in this fight...reach.

Spence has no experience neither does Kell so experience is no factor here. Kell hardly beat a very limited Shawn Porter and no way he is going to beat Spence. It will be a frozen day in hell before that happens.
