Was Alvarez always a threat even at 155 for Golovkin?

So let's just fast forward 2017 because the defensive streak is more important for K2, so the Nelo bout ain't happening. Not because K2 is ducking, but just because K2 can continue doing business without Alvarez in 2017 and continue with the defenses.

I will pose two folded riddles:

"Alvarez too big...this disrespect to boxing... my focus is only 160.."

"Of course, Floyd is dream fight." #154..

The 2010 sparring session was in a galaxy far far away. Why didn't GGG want to steal the belt at 155 when Alvarez welcomed a fight at 155 after beating Cotto? Why did boxing fans believe in the purity of an only 160 sanctioned bout?

I think it all comes down to K2 team worried they wouldn't be able to beat Nelo on the cards. If he knew for sure he could KO Alvarez they would've taken the bout.

Now we are at 160. I assure you guys Alvarez will beat Golovkin. It's a guarantee

There's no way Canelo loses on the cards. Golovkin can't knock him out either so you know the outcome.

There is a bit of bait doe. K2 could've said, "we don't mind fighting Alvarez at 155, but we don't make the rules, the WBC said 160, so we are following their rules. How is this our fault."

But Abel didn't say that. He said Alvarez is a diva and there are already multiple official weight divisions yet they were still pursuing the bout.

I would like to know Suleiman's reasoning for the bottle sanctioned limit. He might be tighter with Chavez Sr and Marquez as they are the voices in Mexican boxing, so Suleiman had to go with corners none of us know about.

Canelo doesn't have Floyd's stature in the sport. That's why GGG was willing to go down to 154 to fight him. Mayweather Jr is a big PPV star AND is considered by many to be the best boxer of his generation. Canelo is just popular.

He also mentioned PAC at 154. Alvarez risked his 0 for 152. Floyd's been retired. How come GGG and K2 can't understand PPV?

Idk Nelo probably threatened to beat him up or something.

A big reason why GGG has had two PPV fights is because his opponents demanded enough money that made PPV the only way it could work financially. They clearly had also hoped GGG's excellent HBO ratings would translate into PPV. Turns out that isn't the case.

PS: Canelo dropped 3 pounds from his Canelo weight. Who cares?

canelo will beat ggg brutally. too slick in the pocket, better counters, fast combos, built like a tank, solid chin and handspeed. ggg too slow and he doesnt counter at all. canelo gonna eat him.

Golovkin's been basically fighting at the same weight class since 2003 (day-of 165lbs weight limit during his final 2-3 years as a top-level amateur) and he's already 35 years old. He and his camp have basically made it a science of getting Golovkin down to 160lbs to fight, and any pound below that is at a detriment to Golovkin's ability.

Floyd Mayweather Jr is a big junior welterweight fighting at 147lbs, so Golovkin and his camp have no fear of what they'll be giving up in getting to down 154 (when Floyd's never weighed over 152lbs for a fight)

Saul Alvarez is a solid-sized junior middleweight fighting at 154/155lbs, so Golovkin going down below 160lbs would be a physical detriment to himself, with no actual deficit to Alvarez.
