How good is your defense if you have to fight so safe and cautious in the ring to not get hit. Floyd is one of the most talented fighters of all time but I do have a problem with him not being able to throw punches as he moved up so that he could protect himself. I don't like that there are so many negative fighters, allowing guys to walk them down. Stand your ground and hold the center of the ring.

^This. Floyd adapted his style to be more efficient as he aged and wore down. He used to be pretty aggressive, but ended up playing strong defense/counters once his hands went bad, etc. If you're talking about "Money", you're only talking about half the picture.

Really that few against Cotto? Always thought it was more. He had Cotto hurt towards the end too.

Excellent question. If your soul focus is defense then...so what? Pernell Whitaker was better. Right in front of you and you still look like a fool.

Floyd wasn't my favorite to watch in his last few years because I prefer fighters that attack and throw combinations...Floyd was usually boring to me + a piece of crap person...but to say he had no offense would be a lie.
