dont pick on just valuev, all of king's men play the same game... did golota deserve a shot brewster, ruiz or byrd?? did fres deserve a shot byrd? what about some of the undeserving clowns that got shots at tito and terry norris... it happens all the time with king, nothing new...

owen beck is a clown in comparison to andrew golota and fres oqendo, im not singling out valuev, just pointing out that this is a new low even for a king fighter, and that valuev is a grown man, i was responding to a previous post where it was implied that valuev has no say in his own career and opposition, which is false regardless of don kings involvement. valuev never fought anybody better than larry donald before he was involved with don king, he has made it a point to fight the easiest fight at every juncture throughout his career. and made it a point to challenege the worst heavyweight champ of them all.

valuev and don king is the worst combination the heavyweight division has ever seen because it combines a champion who only wants easy fights with a promotor that will give him all the easy ones he wants.

i think thats being pretty harsh on valuev... we're not sure what its like dealing with don king, but i'm sure king didnt get where he is today by letting his fighters do what they want... also beck would not be the worse guy to get a title shot... bowe's first 2 defenses were against two past their prime old guys(fergueson, dokes).... and i'm really not sure if fres/golota are better than beck, cause they both suck too...

I'm rooting for Owen. He's a nice guy and not a bad fighter. I do think he's good enough to test Valuev a little, anyway. And if he wins, he'll be the first guy living in Nashville to own a piece of the Gold! ....even if he is from Jamaica.

wlad is has his own promotion company he make his choice of people to fight, king has valuev for another few fights so he calls the shots buddy. valuev is a joke for now but I still belive he has a chance to be a good contender in the division, once again wlad is his own promoter valuev isnt...

I had noticed that Valuev-Beck is set for June 3 in Hanover, Germany, the same night as Corrales-Castillo III, which I don't intend to miss. (Their 1st fight was really something to see.)

I also noticed that Alexander Povetkin appears to be fighting on an undercard to Valuev-Beck that night in Hanover. Povetkin is fighting some guy named Livin Castillo apparently.

I wouldn't mind checking out the Valuev and Povetkin fights. I'm actually just as interested in seeing Povetkin as Valuev.

Anyone know if these fights are being broadcast somewhere? U.S.?

exactly, valulev needs a good showing against someone, **** anyone

they are putting him in there with a guy that us hardcore fans at least recognize

and who most of all is easy as hell to hit and whose stamina in long fights is weak especially after valuev leans on him for 10 rds or so

beck will throw punches but will eat many valuev jabs

weary in the late rounds beck gets dropped

valuev gets a good showing, and a confidence boost
