So no wonder Deontay was mentioning him in a recent video from 'Behind the gloves' as a possible opponent. On another note all you Wilder haters bringing up this geezer as a great opponent don't try to start calling him old now.

It was only a fight by fight with Hearn, but even if Hearn is the promoter it wouldn't prevent Ortiz from signing with Haymon... just ask DeGale and Selby

This might be a good move for Ortiz! It's clear no other promoter wanted to invest heavily on the 38 year old Ortiz. I think his career could have been better if he would've sign with a major promoter 5-8 years ago instead of letting that small promotional company run his career! Most promoters feel the risk is not worth the reward with the aging Ortiz. It's sad because the guy has some really good skills! I have never been a fan of Haymon for specific reasons but I think a guy like Ortiz who falls into a situation like this where most big time promoters want nothing to do with you is where Haymon is good for boxing. We have seen for decades where promoters leave certain fighters hanging out to dry because they lost a fight, doesn't have a big following, or doesn't have the so call fan friendly style. hopefully Ortiz can get more active with competitive fights,

Man GBP has been really going through it lol Years of y'all saying Haymon and PBC was broke and failing come to find out no one failing harder than Oscar. Just look at Matthyse he's a nobody now that he left Haymon. It's all Oscars fault should of kept Schafer now you lost your investors your fighters and about to lose your company. That's what happens when you are a racist drug addict.

Hearn made huge promises about how far he was going to take Ortiz, but delivered garbage fights. We'll see what Haymon can do.
