    Past-prime achievements

So which past-prime achievements do you consider to be most notable?

Number 1 gotta be when Foreman won the title as an old fat man. That was damn impressive. Or when Ali defeated Foreman. Or when Ward, rusty and slowed down, came back and defeated Kovalev at Kovalev's own weight class.

Mention some impressive past prime achievements.

IMO dont think De La Hoya was in his prime when he fought Mayweather, after that fight he struggled a bit against Forbes and lost to Pacquiao and retired.

Mayweather was only 30 at the time, Oscar was 34.

Daggum, Ward aged faster than Kovalev. Kovalev was an active fighter. Everyone noticed and mentioned how Ward was rusty before the fight.

SRR vs Fullmer, Basilio, Olson post 'retirement'

Hopkins beating Pavlik, Pascal, almost Calzaghe

Ray Leonard beating Hagler post eye surgery

ward was more active than kov so that holds no water. he had 2 fights in 8 months before fighting kovalev. he looked fine against paul smith and brand(2 bums) yes he struggled against barrera but barrera is good so no surprise. also if ward was rusty what was kovalev who struggled against chilemba? guess kov was past his best and rusty too right or is this one of those one-sided hypocritical type of deals?

5th weight class, 15 lbs weigh disadvantage on fight night against a reigning champion, not in his absolute Prime, but still was a great fighter at the time, was in the shape of his life for the fight and came in with a lot of advantages.

Nothing beats Ali KOing Foreman, a prime, destructive, unstoppable Foreman and in all honesty, at times Ali made it look easy.

Remember, he was 32 with his reflexes slowed, his legs no longer what they had been in 71, let alone 67 and his hands only a fraction of the speed they once showed.

Foreman on the other hand was as primed as a fighter can be. In his first 3 15 round scheduled bouts (posisble 45 rounds) he had only completed 2 rounds. Two of those 3 KOs came against 2 of the best heavyweights ever and they weren't just stoppaged, they were annihilations. One of those famous uppercuts lifted Frazier clear off the canvas. This is the man an ageing (by his standards) had to face.
