It would have been wiser if Brook had fought Spence before he challenged GGG. Now that he has been stopped by a powerful middleweight and suffered his 1st loss, and plus has to lose the weight to get back down to 147, I don't think he will have enough in the tank to fend off an offensive young machine like Spence. He will have to depend on his legs for 12 rounds to avoid serious damage. If he struggles making weight, his legs will fail him.

Hope Spence team got VADA in place from date contract was signed; Brook is training in Canaries out of the way of the UKAD testers, like he (and other Ingle fighters) often do.

I like that Spence is being compared to Jeff Lacy and being called a prospect. If Spence is even competitive in this fight (let alone win), there will be a lot of people that will have to retract their statements. Spence is confident and looking to prove that he is the best WW. Willing to take 25%, travel overseas, and was seeking Brook to win the belt instead of winning a vacant belt against some nobody. The guy is confident and comes off as authentic. Win, lose, or draw, I am a fan. Let's go, Spence!!!

Clearly you either weren't around then or have a poor memory. The fight odds were very even, some favoured Lacy, and lots of people said Joe was getting wrecked.

Just do some googling and you'll find plenty of forum posts from back then.

Those are the similarities with Spence, not actual boxing skills - it's easy to say with hindsight that Lacy was shįt, but very few people thought that before Joe ruined him.

I guarantee you that if it turns out Spence doesn't have a good beard and Brook smashes him, lots of people on here will suddenly decide he was actually way overhyped and never that good.

Has Spence ever gone 12 rounds? Has he ever been hit by anyone who can punch at welterweight? Has he over fought in front of a hostile crowd? Has he ever fought anybody as physically strong as Brook? Has he or his team ever fought overseas and how will he adjust for that?

It's starting to seem a long way to come for 25% to me.

All credit to Spence because he must be something.

The only question mark around Brook is whether he can make weight.
