Comments Thread For: Leduan Barthelemy Drops, Stops Reynaldo Blanco in Nine

Leduan Barthelemy beat the bravado out of Reynaldo Blanco on Tuesday night. The Las Vegas-based Cuban southpaw stopped Blanco in the ninth round of a scheduled 10-round super featherweight fight in Nice, California. Barthelemy boxed well for much of the bout before dropping Blanco in the ninth round, when Blanco's trainer threw in the towel at the Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino.

Rances Barthelemy has become probably my favorite current Cuban boxer. I'm hoping his brother Leduan follows suit. These guys combine good skill, decent pop and a willingness to mix it up. They've got a height advantage at these weights. These dudes are pretty tall for these divisions.

Not impressed by him at all. He has natural advantages and they were huge plus's in a three round amateur fight. However as he steps up in caliber I think his wide stance and arm punching will not get the job done. I don't wish him ill but I don't see an outstanding prospect.

Did you say the thing about his brother?Arm punches, pulling straight back? I think he is now a two-weight Div.Champ. Not bad for the type of fighter you described

"Did you say the thing about his brother"?............

I did not mention his brother, you did.
Don't be to impressed by championships, these days there are more chances as titles than ever before.
Boxing has champions now that would barely be contenders
when there were two legitimate federations (WBC & WBA)
from the past instead of the "animal crackers" federations now.

My comment was on Leduan and I hope he has a trainer who could help him to learn to sit down on his punches when looking to power punch and also utilize his southpaw positioning more often.
This is not amateur boxing as his opponents become more skillful he will need more skills also.

LMFAO. ****ing unbelievable. Being a homer is one thing, but this incredible homerism for and against promoters is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. I'm glad I quoted him so his original statement is there to be seen.
