Super 6 period, absolutely. Not everyone's cup of tea stylistically but he fought the top guys and he won.

The last few years though; inactive, extremely entitled and his comments since getting a pretty contentious decision over Kovalev have been pretty ludicrous.
True. Suing his dying promoter multiple times and losing multiple times showed me his character. Trying to screw Goosens family out of money he earned.

Are you being sarcastic or what? I don't know when you're joking or when you're serious.
stop defending ward. we know what happens when guys like ward get power. they start asking for huge purses and cherry picking. ward did exactly that. here we go....

after he won the super six(which was setup in his favor) he moved to hbo and he refused to fight bute for a career high payday, refused to fight ggg(wasnt ready) refused to fight froch in the uk after froch was #1 again, refused to fight stevenson after stevenson ko'd dawson on hbo.

instead of these fights or other viable contenders he tried to fight sartison, truax, periban, among others. these opponents were so bad that hbo rejected them. these opponents were so bad that ward tried to sue his promoter in court because he thought his promoter was screwing him by not setting up these easy fights. the court ruled in his promoters favor every time.

eventually ward was almost out of boxing, fighting on bet, and was forced to fight a guy like kovalev. i dont think we need a guy that has to be forced after 5 years of cherry picking to fight the best in boxing. i dont think we need a guy who needs 3 tune ups for 2 million dollars each in boxing. i dont think we need a guy who when he gets a little bit of power immedietely starts cherry pickin and demanding huge purses even though hes not a draw. and i dont think we need a fighter who cheats constantly and gets gift decisions. just watch this vid....do we need this bull-**** in boxing? no.

          Positive:

          He won the Super 6.

He was willing to fight Kov, which made the TS and those like him have to eat their words about him not showing up. He also used VADA testing for that fight.

He got the decision, which made the TS and those like him very angry and exposed a lot of their deep seeded insecurities and biases.

He made GGG not live up to the " fight everyone from 154-168" boast, which allowed me as a fan to have a better understanding of who GGG was rather than just going by the marketing blitz from HBO.

He is making Kov and Duva sweat by using the rematch clause of their deal as leverage in getting more money, which is irritating the TS and those like him.

notice how all of the Ward detractors are either anti American a$$holes or g string ball gaggers.

Overall I would say no. Boxing needs exciting guys at the top.

Being at the top alone doesn't mean you're an asset to your sport (somebody's gotta be there), it's how attractive you make the sport look.

i dont have to defend anything, dude already has a hall of fame resume and most publications rank him top p4p or top 3, whereas you guys have been making excuses for GGG's thin resume....dude is 35 yet its guys in their 20s who have won more titles, beaten more champions and taken more risks

                      smell the roses bro....

wasnt he suppose ask for 3 more tune ups, fake an injury, get knocked out in the first fight?
