Jacobs team Demanded PPV **** Boyz

He made far more than 2.5 million. More revenue that just purse. GGG made good money.

That's not exactly how it works. Just because you best someone doesn't mean you are A-side or become a ppv star.

K2/ggg assumption is they TKO Canelo and no rematch is possible.

If GGG said no he would've been accused of ducking. He made the right decision in agreeing to the terms of the fight but the fact remains ppv was the only way to pay the fighters.

As for the canelo situation maybe his demands are holding up the fight and like with Jacobs I hope they find a way to work it out.

Glaser laying the hammer down says 170k is fake news LMAO

This is significant if you follow the numbers on PPV boxing. Its now late Tuesday, 10 days after GGG-Jacobs, and no official buy number has been put out by HBO, or organizers of the show. Organizers of the event floated 170,000 PPV buys to certain members of the media, but never put it out as "official" because its just more "fake news" as President Trump would say! I Know what the ''real number" is, and people "in the know" realize I do know the real number. So here is what I'm going to do, as soon as the powers to be announce their official number, then I will come out with the ''real number" If they fail to come out with an official number, then late Friday afternoon I will put out the real number here on Facebook. Looking forward to the "gamesmanship" of putting out PPV numbers. - Glaser

First of all, the PPV model is dead. I think boxing should go back to network tv. Fighters can then make some money on sponsorships to compensate for lower purses. But here is what you have to do if you insist on PPV.

            1. Screw all the Diva "I am the A-side" bull***** where the A-side gets the lion's share of the PPV cut. Divide it up in such a way that you can at least guarantee a co-main event that people get excited about.

            2. Co-promotion. GGG was an HBO and K2 fighter. Jacobs is a PBC fighter. Why not cross promote to make sure the fight PPV has a good chance. Have a free show with a good main event on network TV and use that show to promote the hell out of the PPV. Hell, give that guy a cut of the PPV as well. Erroll Spence got 6 million viewers fighting Leonard Bundu. Give him a cut of the PPV to get million pairs of eyeballs on a show that is going to advertise a huge fight later that night.

3.Put on better cards. Most PPV events are crap. The cards are full of showcase fights so if the main event is short or boring and people don't feel like they got their moneys worth. It should be a great main event, a co-main event that would be good enough for a main event on a non-ppv show. Then you should have a third fight with 2 recognizable names (Lemieux-Stevens is a good example of that), a fourth fight that has the potential to be entertaining and then start the fight card with your prospect in a showcase fight if you really want to go that route.

            4. Lower the prices. $65 is a lot of money especially considering there is no guarantee any of the fights on the card are going to be any good. Hell, not only did the Mayweather-Pacquio fight suck but so did the undercard. $100 for that. Ugggh

            5. Fewer PPVs. Period.

Golovkin isn't one of them.
Good call sir! Such a demand it was a complete non issue.
