People with jobs (AKA white people) were still watching in the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. It was a black sport by then.
Main reason boxing's dieing on it's ass in America is lack of exposure for the newer faces. It took Mayweather nearly 10 years as an elite fighter to become a PPV draw because people hadn't heard of him. It's even worse now.Comment

whole 2nd half of the fightNah he won the whole 2nd half of the fight. But win or lose the PPV numbers were trash even though Ward was the favorite. American ppv numbers are dropping because Ward and Crawford don't have grandiose personalities to draw people into the sport the way the greatest fighter of this and the previous era Floyd Mayweather did. Hell Floyd is going to draw more buys to a mismatch against McGregor than TC & Ward ever will combined. Why? He has personality. There isn't a top American fighter with that type of personality besides Broner and Broner just isn't the goods. That is the reason for the decline in PPV and nothing more. Luis Ortiz also has no personality and would not sell jack on PPV and he's on you avi. Kind of a hilarious thread coming from a guy with a cuban on his avi. Cuban fighters have never had a PPV star ever!!
u do the math.
and he lost one or 2 rounds in the second half.Comment

Flailing your arms around impotently like a drunk caveman doesn't win fights either. Ward won 7 rounds it was a clear win. Ward completely dominated the second half of the fight and didnt get shut out in the first 6 either.Comment

It's the marketing. There's no "story" behind triple L. He's a well-mannered assassin, but there's not a big market for that. He needs to fight versus a "bad-boy" or have an equal and opposite nemesis.
Floyd/Manny were perfect in that sense. Floyd was undefeated, loud, and flashy while Manny was quiet, respectful, and beating everyone up. It fit the story perfectly.
GGG needs his Floyd and, sadly, Canelo isn't it. I can't think of one guy more polarizing than Floyd and at 35 GGG ain't gonna find it so Canelo will have to doComment
