K2 took as long as they did to even make the first fight, K2/HBO have been angling to stage Alvarez-Golovkin since Alvarez came over in 2015, the fight was razor close, and Golovkin doing better in a rematch is a tough order for K2 to weigh.

Why talk about wanting a rematch, when is clear beyond day that there's no chance that K2 even whispers about the fight until they see that Alvarez check?
you have a twisted view on reality. December 10th was the date they wanted the fight. I remember Jacobs team saying they needed more time and maybe a fight before the GGG fight. Don't remember hearing GGG team saying anything like that. And yeah, why would they take the immediate rematch when his one and only HUGE payday is right there on the horizon. Jacobs does know the deal which is why he should take another fight in the fall and just hope to get his shot next year. He can fight Lemueix, Charlo, T. Johnson or whoever to keep his momentum building. Imagine if he beat Lemiuex or Charlo, there would certainly be an outcry for the rematch at that point.

I like Jacobs, his story is something out of a movie and I'm glad he did well in the fight. He needs to keep it going now and don't this momentum pass by being inactive.

The fight does merit an immediate rematch; the reality of the boxing world (and K2's obvious angle for Golovkin) simply makes Jacobs insisting on one a fool's errand

Jacobs had his price, and his camp was seemingly in position to get him his price, were the fight to have gone to bid; K2 dragged their feet, but eventually they finally came around to paying Jacobs his money.

Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia just split a guaranteed $4m (what their final take was, once all the revenue are figured, is known to them); with the amount of money that K2 actually ended up putting up for the fight, it's beyond clear that DiBella/Haymon would've comfortably have had the money to win the bid (with Jacobs being cut in on the upside, and Golovkin simply getting his purse).

For a guy who has apparently "moved on", Alvarez sure does occupy aton of Golovkin's headspace, lol

Jacobs vs Andy Lee, July 4th weekend (7/1 or 7/8)

Andy Lee just had an apparently solid performance, he's got some name profile in the NYC area, and Jacobs is likely set for a big return fight to Barclays Center.

Some boxing fans like to recall or not recall the business of boxing that drives the sport when its convenient to their own agenda, fanboy favorites or hated favorites. They know its bs & selective as much as everyone else does.

You cry that boxing is a business though. Why rematch a guy you beat for 2 dollars, when the world wants you to fight a carrot for 15?

As long as the interviews ask those questions then GGG has to be a professional and answer them. You really think Canelo is in GGG's head lol
If anything the pressure is off of Canelo, at the cost of his WBC belt when he vacated it. If Canelo wanted to get in GGG's head he'd have angled himself to face BJS for that belt being the only roadblock to all the belts.
