When Kellerman asked GGG and Jacobs about a possible rematch, only Jacobs backed out

Just listened to the post fight interview again.

Kellerman to GGG: Since Jacobs put up such a good fight would you give him a rematch?

GGG: "Yes of course, I will give him a rematch, I am ready to fight him again."

Kellerman to Jacobs: I am sure, you want a rematch, did you put everything on the line or you think you could do better in a rematch vs GGG?

Jacobs: "Errrr... i am just looking forward to the future, i think i gained alot of fans, my style is very good, like i said before, i am looking forward to the future."

Weird huh? According to this forum shouldnt the roles be reversed? Why did Jacobs back out when asked about the rematch?

That was my impression too. Jacobs sounded happy as **** to have just lost a close fight, all smiles where most guys would be sick to their stomachs.

I don't know how easy it'll be to get the Jacobs rematch. It wasn't easy before and only happened b/c it was mandated. If GGG gives up the IBF or WBO belts after BJS, Danny would likely swoop in and be content to reside the rest of his career as the title holder who went the distance with GGG.

Jacobs was being realistic he understood that a rematch wouldn't be immediate.

Makes absolutely no sense what you say..even if he thought that he would have said "YES I want a rematch, but it probably wont happen till next year"

He seemed to be realizing he just put up the fight of his life and put everything on the line and still wasnt good enough.

I wanted Jacobs to win and I knew he would do well. And the fight went as I expected. But I don't think Jacobs would want an immediate rematch. He's still a Haymon fighter. I expect him to take at least 9 months to a year long layoff before he would think of going back to the ring.

jacobs collapsed after the 12th round from emotions. he was so happy he survived 12 rounds. making him think about going another 12 roudns right after that is not fair. maybe over time he will warm up to the task again. its like drinking. the day after you dont want to do it but next weekend you always end up doing it(im an alcoholic)

Seems like some people need to watch the fight replay and the post fight interviews.

He was happy he survived, he just put up the fight of his life and knew he couldnt possibly do it again. He put up a good fight but came short, lost to the superior fighter, got put on his ass and never really tried to win. He wanted to get gift like Ward got vs Kovalev.

Jacobs is now yapping about a GGG rematch when GGG is fighting Canelo, he is yapping about Saunders when Saunders just signed to fight Khurtsidze.

Why isn't Jacobs trying to fight somebody who is actually free to fight? Like Lemieux, or maybe a Charlo or Willie Monroe.

GGG beats Jacobs worse next time, maybe even KO. Jacobs isn't good enough to beat GGG, simple as that. Good fighter though, wouldnt mind seeing him against Lemieux/Canelo/Charlo soon. All good fights

Yep, he is the #2 at Middleweight and he collapsed into the ropes after the Golovkin fight, he was totally finished. He didnt make the impression he wanted the rematch at all when Kellerman asked him.
