    An investigation is under way after a 17-year-old amateur boxer died shortly after collapsing in the ring. Derbyshire Police said they were called to the Post Mill Centre, South Normanton, at 10.17pm on Friday night. The youth, who is from Ripley, near Derby, was given medical treatment at the bout but was pronounced dead on arrival at Kings Mill Hospital, in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

          Hope people remember that Boxing is not a game. When people call boxers cowards for whatever reason then it just shows how ****** they really are! No fighter who steps in a ring to fight is a coward!

            There is a pic on the article page, but no name? What was the kids name? What happened exactly?

            RIP to the kid either way. Boxing is dangerous & the body can be more fragile then we wanna believe in particular when you're young & you feel indestructible.

              Damn. RIP. This is a dangerous sport we follow. Easy to get desensitized to the punches we see, but those are actually landing and actually shaking up brains.
